Our Community
Habayit (the home) is a chavurah – a tight-knit, mulitgenerational friend group – where Jewish and Israeli education unfold through connection. We are a living Jewish home in Maine.
Rooted in our past through our affiliation with Etz Chaim Synagogue, which has been a cornerstone of Jewish life in Maine for over 100 years, we also look toward our future as we nurture the next generation.
Our Mission
To nurture a deep love and understanding of Jewish identity and K’lal Yisrael (Jewish unity) through immersive experiences that connect our kids and their families to our heritage, values, and shared story.
Our Education
We bring Jewish and Israeli education to life through joyful, relationship-driven experiences. We delve into Israeli culture and history, Torah stories, Jewish values, Hebrew literacy and conversation, holidays, and prayers. There are educational opportunities for all ages as we engage in monthly Shabbat dinners, weekly Saturday sessions, and holiday celebrations.
